Your new role:

• Report to Manager, Library Renewals & Sales Reporting – ANZ, Japan & SEA.
• Provide operational resilience in a key market.
• Support subscription renewals and drive new business.
• Deepen engagement with academic institutions, consortia, and key agents.
• Unlock further potential in the Mary Ann Liebert (MAL) business segment.

As Library Renewal Sales Executive - Japan, you will :

• Manage and renew institutional subscriptions; transition accounts to package and multisite deals.
• Generate new business across journals and learning products.
• Collaborate with consortia, universities, and sales agents to ensure comprehensive coverage.
• Support and grow the USD1 million MAL business through account management and upselling.
• Regularly report progress and coordinate with marketing and renewals teams.
• Strengthen Sage’s visibility and engagement in the Japanese academic and library sector.

Could you be our new Library Renewal Sales Executive - Japan?

• Demonstrated interest in academic publishing and/or education.
• Customer relationship and account management skills, ideally with experience in sales or other client-facing roles.
• Comfortable working with data and reporting tools to track progress and share updates with internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work independently with initiative and self-motivation.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively across diverse cultures.
• Proficiency in Japanese to support communication with local institutions and business partners.
• Comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken, to support internal collaboration across regional and global teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
