Event Assistant (12-month contract)

The Professional Learning Event Assistant is responsible the customer service, invoice processing, and reporting, functions for Corwin events.
Event coordination will include:
- Use of technology that includes CVENT, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Customer service and event registration support
- Processing check requests for event vendors and consultants
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Updates internal reference codes, reference sheets, and frequently asked questions documents.
- Create institute surveys using Survey Monkey
- Responds promptly to internal and external emails and telephone calls.
- Assists in the customer registration process and acts as the primary point person for customer inquiries related to events.
- Updates event-related financial and attendee information in the CVENT web platform, as needed.
- Assists in the production, collation, and shipping of participant materials (program, name tags, completion certificates, other), for each event.
- Maintains the appropriate inventory of supplies and audiovisual equipment for each event.
- Assists the Professional Learning team with general project management, research, and administrative tasks as needed.
EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION GUIDELINES
Includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Minimum of two years of experience in project coordination/management, event planning, or administration required. Corporate event experience highly preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; highly organized and detail oriented a must.
- Demonstrated excellence in working with others.
- Broad knowledge of, and experience with, computer programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as professional learning, web, and social networking tools required.
