About our Team:
The Journals Editorial department is a vibrant and dynamic team of highly motivated individuals who are passionate about research and publishing. We are responsible for developing and growing a diverse portfolio of high-quality, valuable journals across the social sciences, STEM fields, and various business models, whilst adapting to a changing market. Our collaborative efforts with external editors, society partners, and internal colleagues in editorial, marketing, and production roles ensure the growth, success, and long-term sustainability of our program. Could you be our new Research Integrity Editor? Are you?
- Experienced in resolving publication ethics cases within journals?
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail?
- Familiar with online submission
- Able to manage multiple multiple priorities with a high level of adaptability?
- Experienced in navigating complex ethical issues?
- A strong and collaborative communicator, with strong problem solving skills?
In this role, you will:
- Independently manage, investigate and resolve publication ethics cases in line with COPE guidelines and Sage policies.
- Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in workflows for publication ethics investigations and work with the Research Integrity Manager on implementation.
- Act as an initial point of contact for ethics cases involving controversial or sensitive topics
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of Sage in investigating publication ethics cases and bringing them to resolution in a timely manner.
- Use appropriate judgement in escalating cases where necessary, ensuring that key internal stakeholders are apprised of situations that may pose a risk to Sage.
- Working with the Research Integrity Manager, provide advice to Editorial and Peer Review teams on effective communication about research integrity matters with external stakeholders.
- Maintain successful relationships with global Editorial, Peer Review and Legal teams.
- Participate in the testing of novel tools and technology to support research integrity strategic objectives, including training other users where necessary.
- Contribute to training and development of editors in publication ethics and research integrity.
- Oversee large volumes of sensitive and confidential information for working on publication ethics cases in line with GDPR regulations.
